During the backdrop of "Crush India" campaign in 1971, Tara Singh goes missing during a skirmish on the border and is believed to be imprisoned in Pakistan. Learning this, Tara's son, Charanjeet "Jeete" Singh, goes to save him, but gets imprisoned and tortured by Pakistani soldiers under the orders of Major General Hamid Iqbal. Several subordinates of Iqbal were killed by Tara during his escape with his wife, Sakeena, and Jeete from Pakistan in 1954, as a result of which, Hamid wants to exact revenge on Tara.[a] Having survived the skirmish, Tara resurfaces in Punjab and learns from Sakeena that Jeete is in Pakistan. The rest of the story follows whether or not Tara can rescue Jeete from Iqbal and his subordinates in Pakistan.
